The entity of quality certification, Applus, has granted a certificate of quality for the computer procedures for the maintenance of equipment and user services of the Council and its autonomous organisations. This task is developed under the responsibility of ACCÉS Institut Municipal d'Informàtica (municipal institute of information technology). Lleida city council is unique in the state for having an ISO-EN-UNE 9001:2000 certificate of quality for this type of activity.
The Centre d'Assistència a Usuaris (CAU) (Users' services centre) is a unit of ACCÉS Institut Municipal d'Informàtica (Municipal institute of information technology), which is responsible for the coordination, and management of the maintenance system of the departmental IT devices of the council and its autonomous organisations. These include more than 2,000 devices: computers, printers and facilities for more than 600 users.
The maintenance system allows a follow up to be done of every incident, to follow its evolution and the actions that have been taken, as well as the technicians who intervene. At the same time, it has tools that permit the resolution of incidences remotely, including the fact that the computers are under control, reducing the answering times and personalising the service. The service assists an average of 2,500 users a year.
The tasks necessary for obtaining the certificate of quality were drawn out over 6 months, after which and, once the auditory procedures of the company Applus were fulfilled, the certificate of quality was awarded under the regulation ISO-EN-UNE 9001. The achievement of this certificate guarantees that the procedures developed for managing this service are in accordance with the reference rules and that they permit correct follow ups and controls, which optimise the level of quality of service and efficiency that the users can obtain through its use.
With this certification Lleida council demonstrates their internal efficiency and level of service quality to all citizens. .
